According to the Communication of President of ERO no. 45/2020 on the RES auction schedule in 2020 this year eight auctions will be conducted.

RES Auction for existing installations

The first and the only auction held this year for the existing installations will take place on November 3, 2020 (dedicated to those that use only agricultural biogas, including high-efficiency cogeneration, with an installed capacity of more than 1 MW).

RES Auction for new installations

This year's first auction for the new installations will take place on November 5, 2020 and will be dedicated to installations with an installed capacity higher than 1 MW, using only landfill biogas, sewage treatment plant biogas and other biogas (non-agricultural, landfill and sewage treatment plant biogas), dedicated biomass combustion installations, hybrid systems, including high-efficiency cogeneration, as well as thermal waste conversion installations and dedicated multi-fuel combustion installations.

The last planned auctions are for onshore wind and PV with an installed capacity higher than 1 MW, which will be held on November 26, 2020 and for small onshore wind and PV (up to 1 MW), which will take place on December 3, 2020. The official information on the auction date shall be announced at least 30 days before the given auction.

Details regarding the REA Auctions are set in Auction Regulations. On 17 September 2020 the Minister of Climate approved the 2020 Auction Regulations, as established by the President of the ERO.
